Snooker: Doherty, Lee and O'Sullivan advance

The Saga Insurance Masters is already proving to be a very exciting tournament this year. Last night Ken Doherty put on a display of masterful "matchplay snooker" to defeat Barry Hawkins 6-3. Ken never really went for the balls and just made it difficult for Hawkins to score. The more Ken played this way the more frustrated Hawkins became. Doherty now advances to the last 8.

Graeme Dott the reigning World Champion was in action today but will have every reason to be disappointed. He capitulated to an in form Stephen Lee by 6 frames to 2.

In this afternoons match Ronnie O'Sullivan put on one of the best perfromances I have ever seen. He made short work of Ali Carter and knocked in at least a 50+ break in every frame with 2 centuries. He eventually won 6-1.
