World Snooker Champs - Start Today!

That's right the most eagerly anticipated tournament in the snooker calendar is upon us with the World Snooker Championships starting today (19th April).

John Higgins will start the defence of the title he won last year against a former world finalist in Matthew Stevens, they are playing as I type, the match started at 10am in the Crucible and on the other table is Neil Robertson against Nigel Bond.

There was potentially sad news earlier in the week when Graeme Dott was considering pulling out of the event he won just a couple of years ago after struggling with depression. Fortunately he has decided to give it a go and I certainly wish him well for the tournament and hope that he is able to get on the mend soon.
